PoGu is an audio guide for walking around cities. To do that it needs to know where you are, and that is essentially all it needs. This page says plainly what we collect, why, and how to get rid of it.
Your position is used to find the city you are in, to pick the places around you, and to start a story when you come close to one. During a tour the app keeps following your position in the background so the guide keeps working with the screen off. We do not store a track of your movements: coordinates are used at the moment they arrive.
When you point the camera at something and ask what it is, the photo is sent to be recognised, together with your approximate position — without it, recognition is unreliable. A photo may be kept so we can check the quality of recognition and improve it. Photos are not published, not shown to other users, and not used to identify people.
Until you register, the app uses an anonymous identifier so your progress survives a restart. If you register, we store your email address (or the identifier your Apple or Google account gives us — with Apple’s “Hide My Email” we only ever see a relay address), the language of your account, and what you purchased.
We store which cities you opened and which places you listened to. It is what shows you your own history in the app, and it tells us which stories work and which do not.
Payments are handled by Apple and Google. We never see your card details. We receive the fact of a purchase and its confirmation, and we store what you bought.
We use a small number of services to make the app work: hosting and the database, email delivery for sign-in codes, maps, and AI providers that write and voice the stories and recognise photos. They process the data described above only to provide their part of the service.

The app is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page.
